On May 8, our youth will lead the service and the youth choir will conclude its season.  The choir will be singing some beautiful music. One of the pieces, "Why We Sing," expresses how we sing about hope, peace, and what we believe. We lift our voices to sing to God and to be a witness of God's love through our music. They will also sing an uplifting "Glory to God" from The Mass.

Their concluding song will be "The Prayer" combined with the well-known hymn “Lead Us Lord.” This song is chosen as a special farewell to our seniors, Zack Levy-Dyer and Natalie Jadwin. Zack and Natalie have been members of our youth choir for six years. We have been blessed by their presence and their exquisite voices! I hope you are able to join us.

The congregational survey conducted in December 2015 led to a lot of conversation and new initiatives for 2016. After reviewing the responses to questions about the summer worship time, Council individually reached out to GUCC members for more input before casting a vote at the April meeting. The motion to alter the summer schedule passed with unanimous support. From June 19 to September 4, Sunday worship will begin at 10:00. After Labor Day, the worship service will return to 10:30 to allow for Christian Education classes to meet at 9:30.
