Chanel Alexander first answered the call to ministry at the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ. At Mount Airy she served in the choir, nursing homes, transitional housing, street team and as a licensed minister.  Her thirst for study led her to Palmer Theological (formerly Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary), in which she earned a Master of Divinity degree.  While on campus, she participated in student government, Black Seminarians and assisted the International students’ group with programs. She worked as a teaching assistant in Systematic Theology and Christian Social Ethics.  As an intern minister, Chanel served with Dunamis Life Cathedral in Camden, New Jersey, as a preacher, youth leader and children’s Sunday School teacher.  She also served with Mount Olivet Tabernacle Baptist Church as an Associate Minister and as part of the evangelism team.  Chanel also completed a master degree in Urban Studies with a concentration in Community Development.  She currently serves as an Associate Minister at Grace Christian Fellowship UCC under the leadership of Pastor Cean James.  Her passion is preaching and teaching and building bridges between Church and Community.   She will be serving part time with us here at Glenside UCC during Pastor Beth’s leave.
